Class A: Gel Printing and Paper-making
Join collage artist Maureen Seltzer in this wildly creative and playful class. We will be learning about mono printing on a Gel Plate as we make pretty papers and beyond. We will start out with basic printing on an 8 x 10 Gel Press. She will share with you about different papers from old book pages and maps to print-making papers to use on this versatile tool that you will surely get addicted to. We will use the pretty papers that we make in this class to do a torn paper painting later in the weekend. She will cover how to cut your own mask out of easy-to-find supplies and then print back into your papers. You will end up with a finished work of art suitable for mat and framing. If you don’t know what a mask is, come join us and find out. It is one of the most fun and easy techniques that Maureen will be sharing, along with many of the secrets that she has learned over the years working with printmaking. You will leave this class with a stack of papers that you can use in your art making. No drawing experience needed. All supplies included.
Class B: And SO Much More!
This class is a blend of Maureen and Marcia’s teaching and techniques in Watercolor and Ink for making papers and adding embellishment to your art. Working back and forth, their different styles cover a lot of ground in a comprehensive and complementary way. This class will be will be fun, warm and synergistic – just like their friendship.
